Lukas Göthman is a Swedish artist born in 1970.

 

He is a self-taught artist who mainly works with oil painting.

While evoking landscapes and journeys, his abstract works explore states of mind, expressions or feelings.

The artist also uses words, which always come first in his creative process. Already known for his text-based monochrome paintings, he started a series called "Paintnotes" in 2020. The latter display words whose meanings vanish in favor of their sensual shape, dense texture and the sensation they convey.

Lukas Gothman's work has been exhibited many times in Sweden since the early 2000s. It has also been featured in various exhibitions in other European countries : the Björkholmen Gallery, Stockholm, 2012, 2010; Cercle Suédois, Paris, 2013; and Galleri Magnus Åklundh, Malmö, 2008.
