Lut Lenoir

Lut Lenoir is a Belgian textile artist. She was born in 1946 in Roeselare.

She studied plastic arts in Bruges, where she was taught by Roger Bonduel and Georgette de Groote-Tanghe.

In her early career, Lut Lenoir mainly focused on the traditional design of dresses, ties and handkerchiefs.

Afterwards, she turned away from the traditional applied arts and developed her own style. She began making batik paintings with dark purple colors. However, her palette later evolved to lighter colors, that she used on white silk.

In 1978, she obtained the second prize for painting from the city of Ostend.
