Muriel Le Pair was born in 1970. She graduated from the Art Academy in Utrecht in 1994. She now lives and works in Amsterdam.

Since 2005, she has painted the same person again and again, in endless repetition. She is fascinated by the moment of recognition; the glimpse that is enough to recognize someone from miles away. 

Muriel Le Pair has a versatile oeuvre consisting of paintings, photography and drawings. Her work is included in various collections in Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, England and in the Netherlands.
She has been nominated several times for the Koninklijke Prijs voor de Schilderkunst (2002, 2000, 1996, 1995). In 2000 she was also nominated for the ArtOlive art prize.
