Curtiz - Life as we know it

Mixed Media - Hand signed - unique work - 2022

Original work using 16 mm celluloid film and marker.
Including frame (205 x 151 cm).

An unique work that transforms and adapts according to its surroundings. When placed on a wall and observed from a distance, it will appear to be a dark geometric piece, until you take a closer look and discover that these geometric lines are made out of thousands of celluloid film images, all roughly taped together. 24722 images to be exactly. Each represent a day in the life of 67 year old human being. A full life on display, with darker periods and occasional moments of light. Rough and irrational aka 'life as we know it'.

When place before a light source the piece will light up and create light/shadow patern on the surroundings.
