This beautiful engraving of a painting by Valerius De Saedeleer (1867-1941), was executed and printed in the Hebbelinck workshops. It illustrates a popular theme of the popular painter: a snow-covered East-Flemish landscape (region around Oudenaarde), with its so typical slender dark trees
250 copies were printed, this is the 'epreuve d'artiste'. The signature of De Saedeleer crosses the engraving and the paper frame, indicating that it is original. Also the coloring of the engraving would have been done by the master himself. The frame is original. Very nice & valuable work.
