Vicente Aguado is a young Spanish artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. He holds a master's degree in Contemporary Art and Visual Culture and a Bachelor of Art degree from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. His work feeds on popular culture by mixing criticism with his corrosive black humour. His works explore different forms of social control, question the forms of power as well as the place of the media in contemporary culture.
Since the early 2010s, he has been working on a series of imaginary characters. He uses inks and paint on papers often recovered from old magazines to create corrosive and often very colourful portraits. This young artist, already spotted by the world of alternative comics, has created a unique style inspired by the big names of underground drawing and street art. He has also found his audience through a series of European exhibitions, the most recent of which took place in 2018 at the Fine Roots Gallery in Edinburgh.
Beautiful original drawing of an emerging artist whose rating on the art market is only climbing, artist to follow!
